| The NAHT has developed a comprehensive, fully interactive web site. With a membership of over 30,000, the National Association of Head Teachers is the largest organisation of its kind in Europe. It has provided over a century of dedicated support to its members and speaks with authority and strength on educational issues covering primary, secondary and special school sectors. |

It gives members the ability to access up-to-date information, has online, real time conferences and discussion groups and is rapidly becoming the focal point for members information and professional needs. In developing the site, NAHT's vision was to move to a paperless environment, saving money and time and providing a more efficient and comprehensive service to their members. The site has developed into a highly flexible and also highly complex site with a large range of back-office facilities, front-end services and tools for members. The backbone of the site is based on a content management system, which allows any trained member of NAHT staff to add information to the site. No technical knowledge is required other than basic web familiarity. The NAHT have a long-term commitment to developing electronic communications with their membership so the web site is always being developed to keep in line with current trends, and they are constantly looking to improve facilities and access to information for members. |
